Untitled

The piece was created for the exhibition Lithosphere, part of the GeoChromia project, taking as its starting point soil samples collected from different locations across Serifos. These materials were incorporated into a white clay body, forming the material from which the base of the sculpture was shaped. Through this choice, the island’s own soil becomes the foundation of the composition.

An organic form emerges from this base, referencing the sea and the sky—two elements inseparable from the idea and experience of island life. The coexistence of these two parts seeks to convey the relationship between land and water, not through a literal representation of the landscape, but through the use of the materials themselves and the fundamental colour references that define it.
