Check out this summer's exhibitions!

Exhibitions at ARTLAB are born from the meeting point between contemporary art and the island of Serifos. Each year, artists from Greece and abroad present works inspired by the island’s landscape, history, and natural materials. In the summer of 2026, ARTLAB launches GeoChromia – From Earth to Color, a new exhibition series that brings the geology of Serifos into dialogue with contemporary artistic practice.

PROJECT GEOCHROMIA
On Serifos, color exists before art. Rocks and minerals were collected from six different locations across the island of Serifos and sent to the participating artists as a shared starting point for research and experimentation. Working from the same source material, painters, ceramic artists, and photographers each developed new bodies of work. Through three consecutive exhibitions, the rocks and earth of Serifos are transformed into new forms of artistic expression, revealing the richness and diversity of creative approaches inspired by the same landscape.

For centuries, the earth of Serifos travelled the world as a raw material. Today, it begins a new journey—this time, as art.

GeoChromia is an initiative of ARTLAB by Think of Serifos and is presented under the auspices of the Hellenic Ministry of Culture and the Municipality of Serifos.

Project Geochromia: Painting & Printmaking ExhibitionOngoing

The first exhibition of GeoChromia explores the meeting of painting and printmaking with the natural pigments of Serifos. Beginning with the same raw materials, each artist follows a distinct creative path, transforming the island’s earth into personal visual languages and narratives. In some works, the natural pigments remain immediately recognizable; in others, they are transformed
