35 Stories
The installation consists of 35 autonomous yet organically connected squares. Inspired by
the unique geological identity of Serifos, these works simulate the roughness of the island’s rocks. Upon these surfaces, various forms are identified and isolated through drawing, where their shading with pencil adds depth.
This visual journey, which could evoke a rock engraving, functions as part of a resilient
response to the harsh working and living conditions of the miners, now recorded in the
island’s history. At the same time, these labyrinthine forms symbolize today’s difficult living
conditions, both on a personal and a social level—the moments when we sink inward, and
the moments when we move forward again with courage.
The presence of the color red serves as a minimal act of remembrance

Margarita Tsouloucha
Margarita Tsouloucha
Margarita Tsouloucha was born and lives in Athens. She is a visual artist and a graduate of
the Department of Fine and Applied Arts at the University of Western Macedonia. In 2017,
she was awarded the first prize at the Students’ Biennale for her work “Conversation” (video performance).The core themes driving her artistic practice are everyday life, womanhood, and human relationships. She has participated in numerous exhibitions and festivals
with visual installations, video art, somatic performances, and sculptures.
Her continuous desire to experiment with space and form has recently led her to explore
ceramics and sculpture.
