The inner path of every human being. The circle symbolizes each cycle of our life. Our losses, our traumas, our joys, all these painful or painless experiences that help us perceive, recognize and accept who we are. With the bright and dark parts of our personality.
In all my sculptural works I always start from a circle. The principle of creation, the symbol of transformation. In this specific work the “clouds” of our lives are captured in the Outer circle, how others see us, smooth, soft “worked”. Thin sheets of clay have been placed inside the circle. Each leaf also symbolizes an experience that is uniquely written inside each one of us and is invisible to those who stay on the surface.
- Sculptural
- High temperature clay
- Stoneware Clay with sand and minerals from Agia Triada, Gyftika, Megalo Livadi Wagons, Malliadiko
- Inlay of soil from Avessalos Beach in order to attribute the "clouds" of our life to the Outer circle
- Technique: slab construction, paperclay
- Unglazed to resemble the beloved land of Serifos
- Perimeter dimensions: 43cm

Arkoulaki Loukia
She was born and raised in the neighborhoods of Piraeus. She studied architectural design. Her occupation with ceramics began during the crisis period.
She studied for 3 years next to Menandros Papadopoulos, where she gained knowledge on ceramic technology, construction techniques as well as decorating and baking techniques (paper kiln, raku, primitive, reduction).
Her technique is based on the absolute imprinting of the techniques she has been taught and performs with great respect and attention. She adds colors and materials deviating slightly from the basic style when she feels that this will give the work the uniqueness of the subject. In this way, the observer/viewer can absorb the energy of the work and its connection with the environment where it is exhibited.
From 2017 to 2023 she collaborated with her teacher Menandros Papadopoulos, teaching technology courses at the "Iridanos" ceramics school
Since 2024 she has been teaching ceramics classes in her workshop in Piraeus. As a teacher and trainer she aims to pass on her knowledge to the younger generations.
Her works have been bought by Greeks abroad, mainly in the USA, architecture studios, decoration companies as well as galleries.
