Recollections
Recollections is a composition of ceramic artworks created using minerals and porcelain. The ceramic pieces are crafted from a blend of minerals sourced in Greece, while their decoration incorporates local minerals, reflecting the rich mining heritage of Serifos. Glaze is applied in certain parts of the work, which has been single-fired at 1280°C.
The inspiration for the work was the coincidence of the exhibition’s opening with the historic uprising of the miners of Serifos on August 21, 1916.
