Facing Cliffs / Maritime Corridor
The first photograph depicts two rock formations near a beach on Serifos, set against the sky. One rock stands opposite the other, like two beings engaged in confrontation or conversation. Each formation is composed of different types of rock with distinctive colours, a characteristic found in many locations across the island.
The second photograph was taken at another rocky coastal location on the island, where a narrow passage allows the water to flow back and forth. Here too, the layers and natural colours of the rocks are the result of the geological diversity of the area.
Both photographs were taken with an ultra-wide-angle lens. In the second image, a deliberately long exposure was used to capture the movement of the water.

Mentor Drakoulis
Μέντωρ Δρακούλης
Born in Athens, he has lived in Palaio Faliro ever since. He studied Computer Science in Grenoble, France, and currently works in the field. Alongside his professional career, he has been involved in photography since his teenage years, primarily as an amateur photographer, exploring and applying a variety of techniques while also developing his theoretical knowledge.
Since 2006, he has spent a significant part of his summers on Serifos. In 2015, he presented the photography exhibition Where the Small Meets the Large at Perseas. His favourite subjects include landscape photography, astrophotography and macro photography. In July 2025, ARTLAB hosted his solo exhibition Starry Serifos, featuring a series of astrophotographs taken on the island.
