Female
Her voice grows heavy,
and so does her soul
Her tear rolls down into her prison
flowing like a river through her steep cliffs
finding a nest in the seas of her body
Yet expressions overflow
A rope shaped like the letter P taints her sensual sobs
and turns her radiant wrists to marble
This is who she is now, shaped to fit the P
This is who she is now, marble white!

Eleftheria Vrochidou
Elwftheria Vrochidou
Eleftheria Vrochidou studied Physics at Aristotle University of Thessaloniki. Alongside her studies, however, she had already begun exploring ceramics as a hobby, later pursuing it on a more professional level.
She studied under Christine Willis, where, in addition to traditional ceramic techniques, she was introduced to alternative firing methods such as Raku, pit firing, and paper kiln firing. She later worked as a studio assistant to ceramic artist Stella Nedoglou, while also attending wheel-throwing workshops with Ilias Christopoulos and Vangelis Magkopoulos, as well as glaze workshops with Giorgos Vavatsis.
Her desire to gain hands-on experience led her to seek out a studio where she could be involved in the entire process of creating a ceramic object, from beginning to end. This journey eventually brought her to Serifos, where she has been working for the past three years at Natassa Kalogeropoulou’s Kerameio Ceramic Studio.
Her artistic focus revolves around bringing together the old and the new, and combining traditional and contemporary forms of expression. Her work reflects the idea that, as we grow, we develop into hybrid identities, carrying elements of both worlds.
