The works on display are depictions of Greek landscapes created using the traditional egg
tempera technique. Egg, vinegar, and pigments applied to wood prepared for icon painting.
Special mention was made of the use of Serifos earth pigments, which so uniquely highlight the color palette of the Greek countryside.

Maritasa Tsimplaki
Maritasa Tsimplaki
Maria (Maritasa) Tsimpaki grew up in Athens, where she studied art conservation at the
Petra Schools.
She graduated with honors from the Department of Fine and Applied Arts at the University
of Florina, majoring in painting with a specialization in representational archaeology.
She has also received training in sculpture, iconography, fresco painting, encaustic painting, mosaic, printmaking, photography, jewelry making, and set design.
She has attended workshops, conferences (including serving as a member of the organizing committee at the WAC in 2019), and lectures as part of her ongoing artistic development.
She illustrated two books and a book cover for Athos and Thira Publishing.
She has held two solo exhibitions in Athens and throughout Greece, and has participated
in numerous group exhibitions at international art fairs, museums, conferences, art galleries, and other venues.
Her works are part of private collections.
Since 2026, she has been studying in the Sculpture Department at the Athens School of
Fine Arts.
