A Cycladic Summer
This artwork is inspired by Cycladic summers. The shades of blue and green, the stones, the dryland flora, the sand, and the pebbles of a typical Cycladic landscape create a raw beauty that captivates through its simplicity and earthy tones. The strong August wind, an integral part of the Cycladic summer, is an organic part of this experience.
This sculpture is a vessel upon which the forces of nature deposit traces of time — sand, soil, ash, and sea water.
- Stoneware clay
- Ash, oxides

Polychronidi Xenia

Xenia Polychronidi studied Financial Economics in Scotland and has been working in finance for more than eight years. The ceramics art came unexpectedly into her life two and a half years ago, when she began practicing and learning alongside Menandros Papadopoulos. To this day, she has created her own space to express her passion, LAXMI Ceramics Studio at Ano Petralona Athens, where she continues her artistic journey with love and enthusiasm.
She is inspired by raw forms and natural glazes made of oxides, ashes, and soil—textures that bring us closer to nature and ground us. Her artworks are born spontaneously, through a silent dialogue with the clay. There is never a clear idea behind them. They are born from a feeling, an inner impulse, and somehow magically take shape.
