Ellie was born in Athens, and still chooses to live part of each year in the Greek islands and the rest in Bloomington. Elle holds a BA from Wellesley, a BFA from Yale, a MA from Indiana University, and has studied at the London School of Arts and Crafts, all in painting.

Ellie has studied with many of the foremost artists of our time. As the conceiver and founder of the Bloomington Area Arts Counsel, this art visionary has lived and prospered at the heart of the Bloomington Art community, for over four decades. Ellie’s paintings are featured in exhibits and collections throughout the world. A Citizen of the World, to our benefit Ellie chooses to make Bloomington her home.

She has been visiting Serifos since the 70s and has created a variety of drawings inspired by the life and different views and perspectives. One of her drawings, “Chora” , has been part of our collection since 2019 (available on T-shirts) and you can find it at our THETA store in the port.
