Play through Theater “Tracing the myth of Perseus…”

THEATRIKO PEXNIDI (play through theatre) is an original educational and scientific method, creation and fruit of long-term studies and practical applications of Lakis Kouretzis.

It constitutes the main axis of pedagogical theatrical expression.

With Theatriko Pexnidi, children engage in free EXPRESSION, VIEWING and ACTION which contributes to the development of their creativity as well as to their mental, spiritual and physical entity by communicating through emotions.

Through Theatriko Pexnidi children:

  •  come into contact and familiarize themselves with contemporary artistic creation and cultural diversity in art, regardless of gender, origin, family status, religion
  • acquire the means to combat stereotypes and discrimination, to accept diversity and to enhance the strengthening of social solidarity and cohesion through contemporary artistic creation
  • empower their creativity and imagination

I am an English teacher in primary education and a Theatriko Pexnidi (play through theatre) animator for typical and special need children in cultural centres in the municipality of Larissa.

Since I was a child I have loved mythology. As I grow older and get constant feedback through the Theatriko Pexnidi workshop (Lakis Kouretzis method) and non-formal education, the value of the myth in modern reality becomes more and more obvious.

I seek truth, connection & joy in theatre pedagogy animation by firmly believing in the dynamics of the group.

When one play ends, another begins. When one circle seems to close, another opens… By joining hands in the circle we create an epicentre of undimmed light. While dropping our emotional baggage, we make up stories, take on roles and where there are questions, answers are given or new ones emerge… And the joy of exploration & discovery is always here. What would life be without PLAYING?
