Lady Gem of Serifos
With the minerals of Serifos I wanted to create a ceramic vase that would show the beauty and tradition of the island. So I chose to make three separate pieces on the wheel – a beautiful woman. At first I wasn’t sure about the kind of clay I wanted to use so I made three initial samples with three different clays. I liked the final result where the clay depicts the same spots as the Serifian land.
- Scupltural
- WMS 2502 Sibelco Clay
- Glazing from Serifian minerals: Turn in Avessalos, Gyftika, Malliadiko
- Earrings: NIGRA clay and Avessalos minerals
- Red powder from Agia Triada was used after firing
