‘Testing Serifos’
This tiny little work called ‘Testing Serifos’, was made as a result of my friend’s and dear colleague Natasa’s Kalogeropoulou, invitation. This is how it all began, a long time ago, for me. A trip that forced me into new paths and taught me a lot for the rest of my working methods, and artistic attitude. What else could this work be, if not an honest, direct, and short depiction of everything I did learn from the rich soil of this island? ‘Testing Serifos’ carries the action of experimentation, of the exposure and the surprises that a ceramist can experience out of working with the rich mineral soil of the mythological island of Serifos.
- White clay mixed with minerals from Serifos island, porcelain, dark glaze made from mixing 7 minerals from the island, Oxidation, 1230C.
- Dimensions: 20x10CM
