Stained Rust

Porcelain cells host grains of Serifian soil on their fine white surface that integrated harmoniously after passing through fire in the kiln.

A collection that refers to the place and the people who worked the land above and below the surface.

Techniques

Soils: sand from Avessalos Beach kneaded with white porcelain, soil from the “Megalo Livadi Wagons” was fired, crushed and, using grains in various grain sizes, added “painterly” to the porcelain glaze.

The ceramic elements created a composition, which was suspended by a “chain” of wrought iron that I made especially for the artwork.
