I started making anthropomorphic clay figures in 1998, when I was a student
in the experimental laboratory of Kostas Tarkasis.
Through a personal narrative, I create idiosyncratic works in an attempt to
connect with my inner self, which I often discover is left behind at a very
young age.
I make men, women, animals and birds, mask them and dress them in bright
colors, often willing to face my life with humor and irony.
I create figures that function as personal symbols that narrate relationships
and family situations, in an attempt to heal my personal wounds, with the
hope that they will touch the viewer in a similar way.
